If you are looking to make a difference in our community, the 7x24 Exchange DC Chapter invites you to volunteer for our Third Annual Backpack Coalition Pack Night on April 14th!

Thanks to the donations of partners like you, last year we were able to donate more than over 1,000 Family Meal Bags to food insecure individuals, each to feed a family of four. In addition, Loudoun Education Foundation received over $30,000 in direct financial contributions to support the Backpack Coalition from our members.

This year we are adding SPARK (Supporting Partnerships and Resources for Kids), to this outreach initiative.  A portion of the food and monetary donations will go this this organization.  SPARK is the equivalent of Loudoun Education Foundation for Prince William County Schools (PWCS).  They also provide weekend meals and snacks to students in the PWCS system.

We are looking for approximately 35 volunteers to sort/pack meal bags, if you are interested, please register by April 7th.  Food and refreshments provided for volunteers!

Backpack Coalition is a program of the Loudoun Education Foundation that provides weekend meals to food-insecure students and their families. They provide more than 1,000 meals each week to food-insecure students and their families, empowering them to focus on school instead of hunger. They support schools’ existing weekend meal programs or create and sustain them at schools that previously did not have one. Their goal is to ensure that all students are fed so they can focus on their education. SPARK’s mission is to engage community and business partners to fund and promote initiatives and new opportunities that enhance educational excellence.  They do this by: Bolstering student achievement through the innovative grants program and other special projects; Encouraging family and community engagement through partnerships that provide support to current community needs; Utilizing social media channels in collaboration with school division initiatives; Creating meaningful dialogue between the schools and the community and Uniting community resources to invest in public schools.
